This is my 2nd attempt trying to unravel this gem of a waterfall.

The 1st time around, somewhere in April, it went miserably wrong. Firstly, planned the trekking way too late, started around noon. We were washed out by the rain, got lost along the way and ended right at the end of the track, way above and missing all 3 waterfalls. And tell me about the leeches after the rain. We were practically their annual Thanksgiving/ CNY/ Raya/ Deepavali kenduri feast! At least 5 - 6 leeches on ONE foot at any one time. Didn't help matters when both of us came ill-prepared. Expecting the normal recreational Templar Park type trek, the Kemansah rough-it-out was totally unexpected. Two victims, armed with only 2 lighters and only one pen knife to heat up, slow and unwise to get rid of the fast-sticking leeches. Sludging through the slippery trek due to the rain fall proved too much for my brand new Crocs as well. Armed with only a print out guide from the net http://www.waterfallsofmalaysia.com/77ampang.php and wide-eyed naivety, we were lucky to have made it back out in one piece. Didn't help matter that we missed the part where they said about following "A small trail leads down to the Lower Ampang Fall". But which one? Ending at the top end of the trail, we trudged back down in the rain; finally able to locate the fabled small trail. A small consolation, we did manage to track down the 1st Lower Fall. By the time we were there, dusk was fast setting in. Gladly, we made it out into civilization in one piece, disappointed in some ways because we couldn’t get to the other falls.

Unfazed, fast forward to the sequel… Enjoy the pics. Aesthetically, zero, but descriptions are included. Hopefully, it will provide a good idea/ walkthrough to whomever’s interested wandering into the wilderness.

Also, next time, I’ll start the trek earlier. 9am dim sum meet-up is definitely not advisable.

Yeah, it looks like it's growing from nowhere. Just hanging but at the same time, breathing life.

Nature has the most mysterious of ways.

Yes, nothing more dangerous than wild boar, I would say...:-)

Nearest encounter I had with wild boars was near the Quartz Range: A loud snort, wild rustling in the foliage; was scared shitless, turned and ran for at least 10 minutes!

1st time to Kemansah Falls, thought we saw some paw prints of wild cats...
